Terms of Service — Rapid3D.ie
Last updated: 04/09/2026
1. Who we are
Rapid3D.ie is a 3D printing service operated by Maximilian White. You can contact us at sales@rapid3d.ie.
These terms apply to every order placed through rapid3d.ie. By placing an order you agree to them. Please read them before you pay.
2. What we do and what we don't do
We print 3D files that you supply. We are a printing service, not a design service.
We do not:
create, design, model or draw 3D files from an idea, sketch, photo or measurement
repair, remodel, hollow, split, combine, engrave or personalise your file
guarantee that your design is fit for any particular purpose
check or verify that your model is structurally sound, correctly sized, or suitable for its intended use
You are responsible for the design, dimensions, scale, tolerances and intended use of anything you send us. We print what you upload, at the settings you choose.
3. Your file, your responsibility
When you upload a file and place an order, you confirm that all of the following are true:
Ownership and rights. You own the file, or you have permission from the rights holder to have it printed. The model does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, design right, patent or other intellectual property. You are not reproducing a commercial product, branded item, logo or licensed character without permission.
Legality. The item is legal to manufacture, own and possess in Ireland, and in any country you ask us to send it to.
Not a weapon. The item is not a firearm, receiver, magazine, firearm accessory, or any component of a device designed or adapted to cause injury. It is not designed to be assembled into any such thing.
Not food-contact. The item is not intended to touch food, drink or the mouth. You understand that standard filaments and the layer lines produced by this process can harbour bacteria, and that common nozzles may contain lead.
Not load-bearing or safety-critical. The item is not intended to carry weight, restrain a person, or form part of anything listed in section 4.
Not regulated. The item does not fall into any other category listed in section 4.
Accuracy. The file is print-ready, correctly scaled, and is what you intend to receive.
Your own use. You have decided the item is appropriate for your intended use. We have not advised you on this and are not in a position to.
If any of these are untrue, you must not place the order.
4. What we will not print
We will not print, and will cancel and refund, any order involving the following.
Copyrighted, Trademarked or Patented Intellectual Property (without permission): You cannot print branded logos, characters or movie props without explicit commercial licensing from the creator or rights holder.
Firearms and Restricted Weapons: firearms, receivers, magazines, or weapon components.
Medical Devices and PPE: Items like surgical masks, medical-grade nasal swabs, or custom orthotics/implants.
Electrical Mains Components: high-voltage enclosures, custom AC wall sockets, or direct mains-powered electrical adapters carry severe fire and electrocution hazards.
Food-Contact Items: Standard 3D printing filaments (PLA, ABS, PETG) and layer lines trap bacteria, and many common brass or standard nozzles contain lead.
Load bearing items: Automotive suspension, steering linkages, seat mounts, tow hooks, harness brackets, carabiners, harness clips, rope anchors, rigging hardware, car seat clips, stroller hinges, high-chair joints, crib hardware, chairs, stools, hammock brackets, pull-up bar mounts, hoist hooks, crane loops, heavy lighting rig brackets, large TV mounts, heavy shelf supports, structural railing brackets.
Children's items: teething toys, dummies, small parts for under-threes, choking hazards.
Pressure and rotation: pressure vessels, compressed gas fittings, propellers, flywheels, drone parts.
Security bypass: lock picks, key copies, shims, bypass tools.
Counterfeits: currency, official seals, ID documents, branded packaging.
Gas and high heat: gas fittings, burner parts, anything near a naked flame.
This list is not exhaustive, we may refuse any order we find unsafe, illegal or unsuitable, and will cancel and refund it before printing.
5. Our review, and its limits
We carry out a manufacturability and safety review of every file before printing. This review is a short visual and technical check by a human. It is intended to catch obvious problems.
It is not a guarantee. We cannot identify every prohibited, infringing or unsafe item from a 3D file. A part may look innocuous in isolation and form part of something we would not have printed. We may not recognise a copyrighted design, a patented mechanism, or a component of a larger assembly.
The confirmations you give under section 3 are the primary safeguard. Our review is an additional check, not a substitute for your honesty.
If we discover after printing or dispatch that an order breached these terms, we may cancel any related orders, refuse future orders, and where required, report the matter to the relevant authorities.
6. How your order works
You upload your file and choose material, colour and settings.
You receive a price. Delivery is charged separately and shown before checkout.
You pay. No order enters production before payment clears.
We review your file.
If accepted, we print, inspect, pack and dispatch.
If we cannot accept it, we cancel and refund you before production, and tell you why.
Minimum order value is €8 excluding delivery.
7. What your print will be like
3D printing by fused deposition modelling builds objects in layers. This means:
fine horizontal layer lines are visible on all surfaces and are not a defect
where supports were needed, small marks or roughness may remain after removal
surface finish varies with the geometry and orientation of your model
colour may vary slightly between filament batches
there is normal dimensional variation between the digital model and the printed part
printed parts are strongest across layers and weakest between them
PLA softens in heat and should not be left in a hot car or direct sunlight
If your part needs to fit something precisely, build tolerance into your design.
8. How you use your print
You decide what to do with the item you receive. We do not know your intended use and cannot assess whether the item is suitable for it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from how you use, modify, install, sell or pass on a printed item, or from a design fault in the file you supplied.
Nothing in this section limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Your consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you have rights under Irish and EU consumer law. Nothing in these terms reduces those rights.
Goods we supply must match their description and be of the quality you can reasonably expect given the description, price and the nature of the process set out in section 7.
Faulty or incorrect items. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or not as described, contact us with your order number and clear photographs of the item and packaging. We will reprint or refund as appropriate.
Cancellation. Items printed to your file and specification are made to your order. This may limit the standard 14 day cooling-off period for distance sales. This does not affect your rights where goods are faulty or not as described. If you need to cancel, contact us immediately — we can usually help if printing has not started.
10. Delivery
We aim to dispatch within 2-4 working days of accepting your order. Delivery times after dispatch are the carrier's, not ours. Time may vary from print time on larger prints.
Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout and are your responsibility.
11. Your file and your data
We use your file only to fulfil your order. We do not sell it, share it beyond what is needed for fulfilment, or use it in marketing without your permission.
We keep order files for 14 days after dispatch, then delete them, unless you ask us to keep them or we are legally required to. See our Privacy Notice for full detail.
12. Rights complaints
If you believe an item we have printed infringes your intellectual property, contact us at sales@rapid3d.ie with details of the right you hold and the item concerned. We will review promptly and take appropriate action.
13. General
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published when you place your order.
